Dear Sweet Addie <3

This is my Adalyn Rose. I met her when she was just three, and shortly before her fifth birthday, I married her daddy and became her stepmom. She accepted me the moment I walked into her life and watching her grow has been a blessing. She makes being a stepmom easy!

Seriously, this girl…she’s smart, she’s kind, she’s compassionate, she’s a giver, she’s a helper, and…she’s a dreamer with a heart for adventure. At only seven, I can already see that God has big plans for her.

She reminds me of a simpler time…you know, when you believed 100%, without a doubt, that you could do and accomplish absolutely anything! You know, that time before the ugliness of the world gave you life’s reality check. My prayer for Addie is that this world never, ever, robs her of her particular kind of awesome!

As far as me, well, I have dreams too, and what I want to accomplish, as her stepmom, is simply to lead by example. To wholeheartedly pursue my calling and my dreams. I want her to see, through me, that even though the world is often ugly, and sometimes things are tough, we are still capable of doing hard things and dreams really can come true!

I want her to see that if we work hard, pray harder, and continue in the direction God is leading us…dreams do unfold in front of us. Isn’t it amazing how God uses our little people to encourage, inspire, and remind us of all the things that truly matter!

Dear sweet Addie, you are my spirit animal! What inspiration have your little ones encouraged, today!?
