Looking for a super easy, fun Halloween craft to do with the kids on those gloomy, cold fall weekends? Rock monsters are a fun way to keep the kids entertained with only a few materials needed.
Prep an area for painting – kids are messy! We did 4 rocks each, and I let them pick out 4 separate colors for each monster. Paint the tops of each rock, let dry. Once dry, paint the back side of each rock. Be sure to leave plenty of time for rocks to dry completely before adding monster faces.
Once your paint has dried, use sharpie markers to create your monster mouths. I am all about letting the kids create themselves. My kids are young, so I used a scrap piece of paper and colored some examples of monster mouths for them. They were then able to choose, draw themselves, or create their very own.
Finally, and usually the best part for the kids, completing their monster friend with funny googly eyes! Some of our creations had different size eyes, one eye, and even one with NINE eyes! Let them be creative.
That’s all there is to it! We now have 8 monster friends that the kids have named, and given out to family, as little gifts. Super easy – super fun! Comment some other fun Halloween crafts to do with the littles below!
