S U M M E R vacation is here!
The kids have spent the majority of the past two years, at home, with us and attending school here. This was a short term plan, put in place, while their mother attended college. Now that she’s settled into a new home and career, the kids will move back in to her home, during the week, and attend a new school. This is a huge celebration for her, and while we are excited for her and that stability for the littles, we are also heartbroken with the loss of time this will create with the kids in our home. It will be a tough transition but we must make the most of the time we do have. It’s incredibly important not to let it bring us down. Summer break is a very important time for us, as time between homes is split down the middle…
This brings me to my July “planner challenge”. I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to structure, prep and planning. My planner is a staple, it goes where I go, and I’d be lost without it. I’m definitely not the spontaneous type, but I do like to create some excitement (mostly for myself) while planning. I tend to copy or create a monthly challenge that will be good for my family, for my spiritual life or for us physically. Being that its summer vacation and we are looking to make memories, I decided on a planner challenge for July to help make the most of our time.
The challenge is simply this: to schedule, during the month of July, these 8 things and enjoy the memories we make during each of them! They won’t always include the kids, but most will. There’s even a day to plan some time all to myself, which I haven’t done since before Grey was born! With work schedules, camp season, birthdays and more, the challenge lies in finding the time to make all this happen. I hope you are inspired to join me in this challenge, don’t let summer vaca pass you by, let’s make some memories and have some fun!
